“From the waterfall he named her, Minnehaha, Laughing Water” Longfellow
Italy is a seismically highly active country so there are hot springs and spas everywhere. Bagni San Filippo is near the better known and highly picturesque Bagni Vignoni which has a hot water piazza. What makes Bagni San Filippo so attractive from the water portrait point of view is the hot cascade in the middle of a wood. The spa is closed in the winter months and the waters allowed to flow over the cliffs into the river below, a perfect location for a winter water portrait – and besides there is loads of steam when it’s cold out, very photogenic.
